Show Full Itinerary

Day 1: Savannah

Welcome to Savannah! After making your way to our hotel, get yourself settled before meeting our Local Leader to discuss the days ahead. We’ll then head out for a welcome dinner at a local restaurant. After dinner, we’ll take in a show at the historic Savannah Theatre. (d)

*Please note, Club Adventures and Girl Scouts cannot guarantee that any departure will be exclusively female.

Day 2: Savannah

Begin your exploration of Savannah with a visit to the Savannah History Museum. The museum will take us on a journey through time from 1733 to the present with unique exhibits and experiential activities. After our guided tour with an Insider Expert, we’ll get back on the trolley to make our way to River Street. On the way, make a stop for a photo op at the iconic Forsyth Park Fountain. Afterward, we’ll board a riverboat to enjoy a narrated river lunch cruise. Come ready to relax and feast on a delicious southern-style buffet while cruising along the Savannah River. Later this afternoon we’ll visit City Market, a wonderful place to shop for souvenirs. This evening is unscripted to write your own adventure. Perhaps explore Savannah’s newest entertainment district on the west end of River Street—Plant Riverside! (b, l)

Day 3: Savannah

This morning we’ll visit the final resting place of Juliette Gordon Low, the founder of Girl Scouts of the USA, at Laurel Grove North Cemetery. Followed by a visit to the Telfair Academy, the oldest public art museum in the South and the first museum in the United States founded by a woman. Later, we’ll take part in the Savannah Taste Experience First Squares Food Tour. Sample delicious foods from six unique foodie spots surrounding the initial squares built in Savannah while learning about the food, the restaurants, the history, and the culture that help shape the tasty Hostess City’s palate. In the afternoon we’ll explore Tybee Island, experiencing a locally guided, coastal gallery tour, and a 30-minute beach visit at the Tybee Island Marine Science Center. Then we’ll head to the Juliette Gordon Low Birthplace for an exclusive Girl Scout experience. Upon arrival, we’ll enjoy a private after-hours tour of the Birthplace followed by a complimentary drink and historical lecture on Juliette Gordon Low and the history of Girl Scouts. Afterward, we’ll head out for dinner at a local restaurant for one last group meal. (b, l, d)

Day 4: Savannah

Things to know before your trip

Savannah Accessibility Notes

Day 3: The cemetery is somewhat wheelchair accessible with gravel, dirt, and grass-covered paths that a wheelchair should be able to navigate. Galleries and facilities are wheelchair accessible at Telfair Academy. The Marine Science Center is wheelchair accessible and also provides “beach wheelchairs.”

Cuisine

While travelling with us you'll experience the vast array of wonderful food available in the world. Your group leader will be able to suggest restaurants to try during your trip. To give you the maximum flexibility in deciding where, what and with whom to eat, generally not all meals are included in the trip price. This also gives you more budgeting flexibility. As a rule our groups tend to eat together to enable you to taste a larger variety of dishes and enjoy each other's company. There's no obligation to do this though.

On our lodging tours we eat in local restaurants where passengers pay individually for each of their meals and drinks. Average hotel breakfasts cost from US$6-$15, lunches from US$8-$20 and dinners from US$13-$35; this does not include alcoholic beverages. Wine costs approximately US$10 per glass and beer US$7 per bottle.

Travel Insurance

Travel insurance is compulsory for all our trips. We require that, at a minimum, you are covered for medical expenses including emergency repatriation. We strongly recommend that the policy also covers personal liability, cancellation, curtailment and loss of luggage and personal effects. Please ask your travel agent or Club Adventures team member for insurance options at time of booking.

Accessibility FAQs

Who are accessible trips meant for?
Anyone up for adventure! These itineraries are designed for anyone looking for cultural immersion at a slower pace, the opportunity to learn about a new destination with the support of a knowledgeable Local Leader, and to explore with a group of fellow travelers ready to get out there and explore the world. These departures were specifically designed so those with disabilities can experience the world like anyone else.

Is the accommodation accessible? How do you ensure it's accessible for me?
Accommodations chosen on these departures are wheelchair accessible. Rather than just listing that the rooms are accessible, we collect and provide accurate information about the accessibility of the hotel or accommodation during the reservation process. This way, before you even book your stay, you will know exactly what you are getting: whether the doorway width will accommodate your wheelchair, how high the bed is, or what type of accessible shower is offered in the bathroom. Our reservations team is happy to answer questions about the specific tour you are interested in.

Is it possible to enjoy participate in the tours if I am in a powered wheelchair?
Some city tours can be done in a powered wheelchair; other outdoor activities may require a transfer to a trekking wheelchair . Our team will help you find a trip that matches your individual needs and interests.

Are there going to be people available to help me?
Yes. Guides and assistants are available at all of our destinations. The travel professionals that you will meet throughout your trip undergo a training program to prepare them to provide an accessible experience.

How many spots are available per trip for those in a wheelchair?
This varies per destination based on the vehicle configuration, but typically a vehicle can hold a maximum of two wheelchairs. Please reach out to our team to inquire about availability. We suggest that, if interested, you book your spot to ensure you’re confirmed!
