Afterward, we’ll head out for our first dinner together. (d)
*Please note, Club Adventures and Girl Scouts cannot guarantee that any departure will be exclusively female.
This morning we’ll travel like locals on the London Underground to the very heart of the city. Together with an Insider Expert—a longtime Girl Scouts Overseas volunteer!*—we’ll explore iconic sights such as Westminster Abbey, Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, and of course, Buckingham Palace. One event that cannot be missed is the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace. This afternoon, we’ll head to the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts World Centre, Pax Lodge! We’ll meet the Pax Lodge volunteers and enjoy a guided tour, ending with a private pinning ceremony. Afterward, we’ll enjoy cream tea before exploring the grounds! Tonight, we’ll head out to dinner before returning to our hotel. (b, d)

Get ready to be whisked away to Ethiopia without ever leaving London! Supporting a local woman-owned business, we’ll join our Insider Expert, Sefanit, an Ethiopian woman from a local social enterprise, as she leads us through Shepherd’s Bush Market to discover the flavors, cultures, and traditions of her homeland. We’ll finish our adventure by sitting down for an authentic Ethiopian coffee ceremony. After experiencing the varied cultures and flavors of London, we’ll enjoy a classic pastime: high tea! Enjoy finger sandwiches and scones alongside your tea for a true London experience. The rest of the day is unscripted for you to write your own adventure. (b)
After breakfast, we’ll hop aboard the Eurostar for our train ride to Paris. Upon arrival in the French capital, we’ll take our included transfer to our hotel. This afternoon, we’ll meet our Insider Expert to learn about the neo-muralism movement as we contemplate the walls painted by the greatest muralists from all over the world. This tour concentrates on big murals commissioned by Mairie du 13e arrondissement de Paris and multiple galleries or projects like Boulevard Paris 13 (Galerie Itinerance) and Seres Queridos. Afterward, enjoy the rest of the evening to explore and connect with the City of Lights. (b)
Montmartre is a name familiar to all who love Paris! This romantic setting, made famous by the film Amélie, is home to street musicians and picturesque roads animated by artists and painters. On top of that, its traditional food shops are among the best in the city! Enjoy an insider’s look at Montmartre and discover a one-of-a-kind route that shows off the historic, cultural, and gastronomic heritage of the neighborhood! Tonight, Parisian fare comes to life with a Parisian-led cooking course! Learn how to cook local cuisine and then enjoy your creation for dinner! (b, d)
This morning, we’ll explore the world-renowned Louvre Museum. Led by a woman Insider Expert, we’ll begin our exploration by entering through I.M. Pei’s famous glass pyramid. We’ll be treated to expert commentary on countless masterpieces, including Venus de Milo and the Mona Lisa. Afterward, the stunning Eiffel Tower awaits. We’ll stop to pick up some local delicacies at a café and enjoy a bite at the base of the Tower. The afternoon is unscripted for you to write your own adventure. Perhaps you’d like to go shopping on the Champs-Élysées, or simply do as the Parisians do and watch the world go by at a sidewalk café. This evening, it is time to get ready for the closing ceremony and farewell dinner at a local restaurant. (b, d)

Things to know before your trip
Visas are the responsibility of the individual traveler. Entry requirements can change at any time, so it’s important that you check for the latest information. Please visit the relevant consular website of the country or countries you’re visiting for detailed and up-to-date visa information specific to your nationality. Your consultant will also be happy to point you in the right direction with acquiring visas. Visas can take several weeks to process, so familiarize yourself with any requirements as soon as you have booked your trip to allow for processing time.
The official currency of England is the Pound (GBP) while the official currency of France is the Euro (EUR).
The most convenient and cheapest way to acquire money in Europe is via an Automated Teller Machine (ATM). Check with your bank in advance concerning the suitability of your account / card overseas and any international fees that will be applied. You can withdraw local currencies easily at airports, major train stations and most city centres, but be sure to bring some extra emergency cash in a major currency that can be exchanged if the ATMs are not functioning. When leaving home don't forget your PIN and make sure you know the telephone number for cancelling your card if it is stolen. Keep this in a safe place. Credit cards are not always accepted in stores and restaurants. We recommend you carry some cash to pay for restaurant bills and other services.
While travelling with us you'll experience the vast array of wonderful food available in the world. Your Local Leader will be able to suggest restaurants to try during your trip. To give you maximum flexibility in deciding where, what and with whom to eat, generally not all meals are included in the trip price. This also gives you more budgeting flexibility. As a rule our groups tend to eat together to enable you to taste a larger variety of dishes and enjoy each other's company. There's no obligation to do this though.
