After a welcome meeting at 2pm to meet your local leader and other families in your group, it's off to meet Santa Claus himself at Santa Village. Something else that is uniquely exciting about Santa's village is that the Arctic circle line crosses right through the village square so you can hop, jump or skip across it. After a fun filled afternoon, enjoy an optional group dinner in a local restaurant and toast to the magical adventure that lays ahead.

Day 2: Hossa

After breakfast we will drive to our stunning eco-lodge accommodation which is located in the heart of Hossa National Park in the Finnish Kainuu region, latitude 65° North. 'Hossa' means 'a distant place' in the Sami language (Huossa) and this truly is a place like no other. Characterized by its many lakes, rivers and canyons, the park is now well known throughout Finland. After arriving and checking in to our home for the next few days you will have some free time to enjoy one of the optional activities on offer. Test your balance with some nordic skiing or have a go at snowshoeing.

After a quick introduction to basic mushing techniques we will set off, two per sled, across beautiful white lakes and into the forest. We will return just in time for some lunch then the rest of the day is yours to enjoy as you would like. If we're lucky, you may get a chance to view the Northern lights tonight or over the next few days(?)
