We will stop by Sun Studios for a tour of the recording studio where Rock ‘n Roll began. After, we will travel to Graceland where we’ll have time to explore all things Elvis. Tonight, we will take part in a Downton Memphis food crawl with our Insider Expert who will share fun facts about the city while we sample the very best of Memphis cuisine. (B, Food Tastings)

Day 3: Memphis > Nashville

After breakfast, we will depart for the Jack Daniels Distillery in Lynchburg, TN, stopping for lunch along the way. Once we reach the distillery we will take part in a behind the scenes tour before heading to the tasting room to partake in a sip or two of this famous Tennessee Whiskey. Upon arrival in Nashville this afternoon, we will check into our hotel. This evening our group will attend the show at the world famous Grand Ole Opry. (B)

Day 4: Nashville

Today our group will explore Nashville, the Music City. We start the morning off with a tour of the RCA Studio B, one of the world’s most famous recording studios. From here we will go to the Country Music Hall of Fame, where we’ll have plenty of time to explore all that the museum has to offer. Enjoy time unscripted this afternoon to explore all that Nashville has to offer before joining the group for a local Pub Crawl. This evening, it’s time to pull on your cowboy boots as the group will take part in line dancing lessons at the Wildhorse Saloon. (B, D)

Day 5: Nashville

We explore the Music City this morning! There will be time for a self-guided tour of Ryman Auditorium. This building is full of history as it is the birthplace of Bluegrass, the place where Johnny Cash met June and so many more stories. This afternoon we take part in a Foodie Tour featuring a variety of Nashville’s signature flavors. Tonight is unscripted to write your own adventure. Perhaps stop by the Bluebird Café, where so many country artists got their start or the Honky Tonk Bar, which has three floors of live music. Whatever you decide to do, make sure to be on the lookout for your favorite country music stars as you never know who just might turn up to sing a song or two. (B, Food Tastings)

Things to know before traveling to United States of America

Vaccinations

You should consult your doctor for up-to-date medical travel information or for any necessary vaccinations before departure. We recommend that you carry a first aid kit as well as any personal medical requirements as they may not easily be obtained at the locations on this trip. Please ensure that you are adequately prepared.

Personal Medications

Medical prescriptions written outside of the US and Canada aren't accepted at pharmacies. Therefore, we recommend you bring along your personal medications in the necessary quantities for your trip.

Dehydration & Sun Protection

The most likely medical incidents to occur on our trips are dehydration, over exposure to the sun, and twisted ankles from walking on uneven ground. While hiking please ensure you drink enough water to remain hydrated as some hikes don't have refill stations for your water bottles. The sun (especially in desert areas in the West) can be harsh, particularly in the warmer months. Ensure you apply adequate sun protection cream and wear a hat. Travelling with sunburn can be uncomfortable.

Cuisine

While travelling with us you'll experience the vast array of wonderful food available in the world. Your group leader will be able to suggest restaurants to try during your trip. To give you the maximum flexibility in deciding where, what and with whom to eat, generally not all meals are included in the trip price. This also gives you more budgeting flexibility. As a rule our groups tend to eat together to enable you to taste a larger variety of dishes and enjoy each other's company. There's no obligation to do this though.

On our lodging tours we eat in local restaurants where passengers pay individually for each of their meals and drinks. Average hotel breakfasts cost from US$6-$12, lunches from US$8-$15 and dinners from US$13-$30; this does not include alcoholic beverages. Wine costs approximately US$5 per glass and beer US$4 per bottle.

WiFi

Our vans in the USA are equipped with free WiFi however a fair use policy applies. It is limited to 5 users at one time, and is suitable for updating your Facebook status or sending an email home - not for streaming video or radio. Please be considerate of your use so that there is enough to go around. Most hotels have WiFi access although on occasion you may need to pay extra for it.

Visas

Visas are the responsibility of the individual traveler. Entry requirements can change at any time, so it’s important that you check for the latest information. Please visit the relevant consular website of the country or countries you’re visiting for detailed and up-to-date visa information specific to your nationality. Your consultant will also be happy to point you in the right direction with acquiring visas. Visas can take several weeks to process, so familiarize yourself with any requirements as soon as you have booked your trip to allow for processing time.

Travel Insurance

Travel insurance is compulsory for all our trips. We require that, at a minimum, you are covered for medical expenses including emergency repatriation. We strongly recommend that the policy also covers personal liability, cancellation, curtailment and loss of luggage and personal effects. Please ask your travel agent or Club Adventures team member for insurance options at time of booking.
