About Your Host
David Hansen holds a Wine and Spirits Education Trust Level 3 Award with Distinction, as well as a Certified Specialist of Wine designation from the Society of Wine Educators. For the past 20 years, David and his wife, Kristin Crane, have hosted small groups for monthly blind wine tastings. He shares the results, along with regular wine reviews and recommendations, on his website. David's interest in wine grew from a fascination with its vast diversity and scope. As a geographer, he finds that so much of what makes wine interesting and unique is linked to its specific place in the world. Kristin first wanted to learn about wine so she wouldn't mistakenly order a buttery Chardonnay. Since then, her appreciation has only deepened. She's become particularly interested in the stories wine tells about a time, place, and the people who made it.
