Day 1: Punta Arenas/El Calafate - Torres del Paine National Park

Welcome to Torres del Paine! For this Short Break Adventure you can fly into Punta Arenas, Puerto Natales or El Calafate airports where you will be picked up by a local representative and transferred to your accommodation. If picked up from Punta Arenas, you will make a stop en route to a family-owned Estancia where you’ll enjoy a Patagonian welcome and a traditional asado (barbecue) lunch. Arrive at the Hotel Las Torres, located in the heart of Torres del Paine National Park. With remarkable mountain views everywhere you look, hotel locations don’t get much better than this! The hotel also boasts a bar serving up fantastic Chilean wine and craft beers plus an incredible on-site restaurant using ingredients grown in the hotel’s own regenerative garden (all included, so be sure to fuel up!) The weather here can be as wild as the landscapes and all activities are weather dependent, so on arrival you will be briefed by the local guides about the predictions for the coming days and which activities can be most enjoyed. Rest up this evening in anticipation of an exciting three days ahead.

Day 2-4: Torres del Paine National Park

The next three days will be spent exploring the wonders of Torres del Paine National Park on a series of half day or full day excursions of your choosing. This incredibly varied and breathtakingly beautiful landscape offers so much to uncover, whether you fancy challenging yourself on hikes, learning about the local culture or soaking in unforgettable sights from some of the world’s best viewpoints. The activities will be facilitated by your hotel and you may be joined by other guests. The staff will be on hand to help pick out the best guided excursions for you, so be sure to speak to them for advice on how to get the most out of this spectacular corner of the world.

One of the most popular activities is a full day trek to the Las Torres Base Viewpoint, passing through the foothills of Mt Almirante Nieto, the slopes of the Ascencio Valley and a native lenga forest before emerging at a lookout offering up unbelievable views of the iconic Las Torres Mountains jutting dramatically out of the surrounding landscape.

You may also like to consider a half day hike to the Mount Cerro Paine Viewpoint. The route is steep, but you’ll be rewarded with fabulous views of the Las Torres Mountains as you go. Weave your way through a forest of lenga trees, with local guides on hand to point out birdlife overhead and interesting foliage beneath your feet, then arrive at the D'Agostini Viewpoint and soak in stunning views of the Las Torres Mountains and a landscape scattered with valleys, glaciers, and lakes.

Another option is to set out on a full day tour of the Cuernos Sector Trail, skirting between the soaring Mount Almirante Nieto and the cyan waters of Lake Nordenskjöld. Uncover outstanding scenery with every step as you cross a hanging bride, pass by the Laguna Inge and marvel at otherworldly rock formations. It’s not uncommon to see foehn winds resembling mini tornadoes whizzing across the lake’s surface.

Or perhaps you fancy exploring the showstopping Frances Valley on a full day tour. Cruise across the glittering waters of Lake Pehoe before reaching the bottom of the valley, then climb deeper into the valley through towering trees, coming out on the other side to views of the Francés Glacier and the Los Cuernos Mountains which delight with their many shades of grey.
