Day 1: Arrive today in Quito, Ecuador. Settle into our hotel this afternoon and this evening, we’ll gather this evening for a welcome meeting.

Day 2: Transfer this morning for your included flight to Baltra Island in the Galapagos. We will then travel to Isabela Island by high speed boat. Isabela Island is the largest island in the Archipelago and more to many species of tortoise, penguin and blue footed boobie. Get acquainted with the Island on a walking tour with your naturalist leader this evening. (B, L)

Day 3: This morning we visit the Giant Tortoise Breeding Center for a close encounter with these placid giants. We’ll see tortoises in all stages of development and meet with the local conservation team to learn about the efforts of preservation for these creatures. Next, we journey west to Puerto Villamil to see the vast variety of coastal sea birds – this area is home to the largest concentration of flamingos in the Galapagos. After lunch, Las Tintoreras offers excellent viewing of penguins, sharks and marine iguanas. Enjoy a chance to snorkel this afternoon. (B, L)

Day 4: The gorgeous Sierra Negra Volcano awaits us today. With the second largest crater in the world it is one of the most active volcanos in the Galapagos. You may choose to join us on a hike to explore the volcano or relax. (B, L)

Day 5: This morning we venture to the island of Santa Cruz by private high-speed boat. Upon arrival, we’ll meet some locals at the local fish market to get a glimpse of everyday life on the islands. Next, we’ll visit the Charles Darwin Research Station. Learn about the success in repopulating the islands with the once endangered land iguana and several species of giant tortoise. This research station works to preserve the Galápagos’ ecosystem through the conservation efforts of scientists, researchers, and volunteers. It also provides a study location for international scientists and training for naturalist guides. The station is also a great place to observe many species of tortoises and land iguanas in captivity, brought back from the brink of extinction. This evening, gather today with your fellow travelers for a farewell evening. (B, L, D)

Day 6: Say goodbye to the islands this morning – we’ll board our included flight back to the mainland (Quito, Ecuador) where you’re connect to your international flight to Lima to start your Inca Experience. (B)

  • The flight from Baltra/Santa Cruz on this day leaves at approx. 10:30am and arrives in Quito between 3 and 4pm. International flights from Quito can be booked for that evening. If a post-night is required, you may book with our reservations team.

Go to Rome before or after

Day 1: Rome
Buongiorno! Welcome to Italy. Crowded with ancient ruins and religious monuments, Rome still pulses to the beat of modern life and is packed with designer shops, restaurants, cafes and exciting nightlife.
On arrival in the Eternal City you will be met and transferred to your accommodation and the remainder of the day is at leisure.

Day 2: Rome
Wake up and take your time for breakfast and perhaps join locals for an espresso at one of the tiny street-side cafes and sample the many flavors of gelato that color the city. Or hop on the metro and travel to the smallest country on Earth: Vatican City.
In the afternoon make your way to the meeting point of your included Rome city tour. Together with other adventurous travelers you will see some of Rome’s most famous sights with a local guide by your side. Take in views of the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Navona Square and see plenty of hidden gems too. Taste local flavors including wine, gelato and espresso as you wander through countless Roman squares to admire architecture and daily local life. Learn about some of the classic movies that have been filmed in Rome including Fellini’s La Dolce Vita and Audrey Hepburn’s timeless romance, Roman Holiday. This evening is at leisure to explore. Day 3: Naples
Walk nearby to the Roma Termini station where you will board a high-speed train to the city of Naples, the starting point of your Amalfi Coast Club Adventures. From the station, please make your own way to the starting hotel. (b)
